Cameroonian International lawyer, Akere Muna has officially declared his candidature for the 2018 Presidential Election in Cameroon.
In an explicit social media post, Barister Akere Muna makes public his vision for Cameroon, saying he is the solution Cameroonians long for and to build that new “Republic”.
For those of you who don,t know him, Barister Akere Tabeng Muna is a Cameroonian lawyer who is currently the Chairman of the International Anti-Corruption Conference Council. He is also the Sanctions Commissioner of the African Development Bank Group and a Member of the High-Level Panel on Illicit Financial Flows from Africa.
He previously served as the Vice-Chair of Transparency International, and he has presided over the Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) of the African Union, the Pan African Lawyers Union and the Cameroon Bar Association.
Based on Akere Muna’s resume, there’s no doubt that he will be a better president than Biya. But the $64000 question that many Anglophone Cameroonians are asking is… which republic?.
Most Southern Cameroonians are not happy with his decision to run as a president. At a time when the Anglophone Cameroonians are strongly Clamoring to regain their independence and establish the promise land called Ambazonia, nobody expected Barister Akere Muna of all people to do such a thing.
It should be noted that Barister Akere Muna is one of the people that the Anglophone Cameroonians believed can take them out of this Egypt called LRC. From the onset of the Anglophone crisis, Barrister Akere Muna has directly criticized Biya’s regime. He was even summoned for questioning at a police station in Yaounde for his involvement in the Anglophone crisis.
Akere’s declaration to run as a presidential candidate for the 2018 presidential election, clearly suggest that he is not a secessionist. Maybe he is one of the “Power Mongers” who were trying to use the Anglophone Crisis as a platform to gain popularity so as to launch their political parties or increase their probability of winning the 2018 presidential election. Most Biya’s supporter have long described the Anglophone leaders as ”Power Mongers”.
Akere,s declaration to run as a presidential Candidate for the 2018 presidential election, clearly suggest that the Biya’s supporters who said that most of the Anglophone leaders are just **Power Mongers** were partially right.
In the days ahead don,t be surprised if Barister Agbor Balla, Fontem Neba, Hon Wirba Joseph also declare their hidden agenda i.e. their intention to be the next president of the republic of Cameroon.
This is Barister AKere Muna telling Cameroonians his Ulterior motive.
