After the violent street protest that took place in the North West and South West region of Cameroon on the 22nd of September (that led to the death of 11 people), the Speaker of the Cameroon National Assembly; Honourable Cavaye Yeguie Djibril held an extra-ordinary meeting yesterday (Tuesday 26th September 2017) to specifically discuss the anglophone crisis.
The meeting was attended by Bureau members of the National Assembly, all CPDM Parliamentarians from the South West and North West regions. Spokes persons for the political parties in Cameroon were also invited to the meeting but non show up in the National Assembly. The SDF Parliamentarians didn,t also attend the meeting.
At the end of deliberations, all in attendence condemned the present wave of violence in the two Anglophone regions and called on the government of Cameroon to take appropriate measures to reinforce security and punish all perpetrators of violence and terrorism.
In a communiqué released by the Cameroon national assembly after the meeting, Cavaye Yeguie Djibril clearly stated that Cameroon is one and indivisible.
