After the street protest that took place on the 22nd of September in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon (which led to the death of 5 people), an unfounded news have been circulating in the social media that some SDF parliamentarians have resigned. You must have wondered why Kinnaka’s Blog haven,t written a report on that story. This is because Kinnaka’s team always spend too much time in fact-checking before putting pen to paper.
Yesterday (the 26th of September), the SDF Chairman revealed through an interview with STV that so far NO SDF PARLIAMENTARIAN has handed a resignation letter to him so therefore no SDF parliamentarian has resigned.
We read a story on Bareta Mark’s blog that Honourable Joseph Mbah Ndam, a Social Democratic Front ( SDF) parliamentarian for Batibo, has resigned from La Republique du Cameroon’s (LRC’s) parliament. He told a huge crowd of Ambazonians this Friday September 2017, in his Batibo residence, the he will not step foot into the Yaounde foreign land, until further notice. He was speaking on the side-lines of the mass protest actions carried out across all counties of Southern Cameroons.
There,s nothing like verbal resignation. Honourable Joseph Mbah Ndam was just trying to calm down the angry protesters to prevent them from delivering jungle justice. Anybody in his situation would have done the same to preserve his/her life.
Listen up!!! for a parliamentarian to successfully resigned, he or she will have to hand a resignation letter to the speaker of the National Assembly and to the Chairman of his/her party to effect his resignation. Hon Honourable Joseph Mbah Ndam haven,t done that. So he’s still a parliamentarian.
When we learnt that Honourable Joseph Mbah Ndam, Hon Wirba Joseph and other Angophone parliamentarians haven,t resigned, Kinnaka’s team was very happy… in fact we toast to the news.
The idea of asking the Anglophone parliamentarians to resign was a very stupid idea.
The main reason why many Anglophone parliamentarians like Hon Wirba Joseph have been very vocal and fearless in criticizing Biya’s regime and even have the gut to stage street protest is due to their immunity from persecution. Asking the anglophone parliamentarians to resign is like asking a soldier to take off his helmet or armour in the midst of a serious battle.
It should be noted that for so long, Biya’s regime has been looking for a legal way to arrest most SDF parliamentarians who are in support of Federalism or Secession. Their greatest stumbling block has been the Immunity of those parliamentarians. Nevertheless despite the immunity of Hon Joseph Wirba, he was issued an arrest warant. This clearly insinuate how desperately Biya’s regime want to arrest the Anglophone parliamentarians. When Hon Wirba Joseph fled to US and blew the trumpet, Biya’s regime nullified the arrest warrant because it was illegal hence the reason why he hasn,t been arrested till date.
To conclude, i will like to reiterate this fact ….
Asking the anglophone parliamentarians to resign is like asking a soldier to take off his helmet or armour in the midst of a serious battle.
No wise soldier can do that. So Honourable Joseph Mbah Ndam , Hon Wirba Joseph and other anglophone Cameroonians who haven,t tender their resignation are wise.
I REST MY CASE
